School House Clocks
School house clocks are a 19th century style of clock that is very popular among collectors today. It is also very common to see re-creations of these clocks being made today. These clocks characteristically have a large face that is either round or octagonal in shape. The face sometimes includes a calendar, but it is usually only hours that are displayed on a typical school house clock. These clocks are another example of an antique clock that is much more valuable if the original label is still attached. Even if some of the label is missing, it will still increase the value of the clock to have the original literature still printed on it. This way, the label serves as proof of manufacturer, year, and make. Generally, the older the clock is, and the better the shape it is in, the more it is worth.
