The Telechron Clock Company was founded by a man named Henry Ellis Warren. He was great with electrical clocks, and received several patents for designs regarding battery driven pendulums. He also did a lot of work which had to do with making an A/C powered clock, although the A/C power provided at the time was so off that his clocks had errors of up to 20 minutes a day! He designed a master clock to correct the problem, but it took years to convince the electric companies to regulate their power.
These modern clocks sold very gradually, as people were unsure of them at first. However, once they caught on, people loved them. They sold by the thousands, and the company met with great success. Collectors are often on the lookout for motors to these old clocks, as they can be used to restore the clocks that are still around. These clocks are not used anymore, and are very valuable.
