The Southern Calendar Clock Company started back in 1875 in St. Louis, Missouri. Three brothers, who bore the name Culver, were the founders of the company. The business was also incorporated in March of 1875, and manufacturing of the company's signature double-dial calendar clocks began immediately. The clocks were said to be very beautiful, and are still collectors' items to this day. The brothers introduced a lot of innovations to their business, including a payment plan so that customers could take 6 months to pay for their clocks at 10% interest.
In 1899, the brothers turned their attention to stoves instead of clocks, and the company was closed down. But even still today, these clocks, built with fantastic quality which helps them last a long time, are very sought after by clock lovers and collectors alike, especially the Fashion series. This was the most popular series released by the Culver brothers.
