Picture clocks were clocks that had pictures on the face underneath the hour numbers, or even instead of them. Most of these clocks featured popular artwork of the time, with more modern clocks sporting all kinds of drawings, graphics, pictures, and even designs. Picture clocks were great back in olden times because they kind of served two purposes. For one, they served to keep track of the time. And two, they captured some memorable moment in the form of a picture. Sometimes the pictures were personal, but other times they were just random pictures that the owner of the clock grew to love. Antique picture clocks are great collectors' items, and can often be found at sales, auctions, in shops, or online. Some people like picture clocks better than any other clock because it serves as not only a clock, but as a sort of picture frame as well.
