The Howard Miller clock company was formed by Howard Miller himself. He lived from 1905 until 1995, and always prided himself on excellence and fine workmanship. Howard was taught the art of clock making by his father Herman, in the Black Forest region of Germany. Here he developed a keen sense of craftsmanship that would later serve to make his clocks some of the best and most memorable clocks of all time.
In his early years, Howard Miller focused on chiming wall and mantel clocks. He produced breathtaking Avant garde clocks that to this day stand in collectors galleries. During the Second World War, Howard Miller served by making anti-aircraft covers for the military.
The company is still in existence today, and it features some of the finest timepieces available. The company has bought several other firms and has expanded its production since the early days.
