The Hamilton Watch Company was founded in Pennsylvania in a town called Lancaster in the year 1892. The first watch ever produced by the company was made in 1893, and was designed by H.J. Cain, one of the company's founding fathers. In 1983, the Broadway Limited was introduced. This was a watch that was dubbed "the watch of railroad accuracy". This watch was met with great acclaim, being sported as the official wrist watch of the American Expeditionary Forces, worn by General Pershing and his doughboys in World War 1, and accompanied Admiral Byrd on his expeditions to the South and North poles. It was also on the wrist of the first man from America to scale Mount Everest! Hamilton also introduced the world's first digital watch? which was named the Pulsar. Hamilton is still making watches today, mostly re-creations of its traditional popular watches.
