The Chelsea Clock Company was pretty much started back in 1897. That year, Charles H. Pearson bought out a clock company known as the Boston Clock company, and renamed it the Chelsea Clock Company. Even though the company has undergone some trouble, they stuck to the idea of making the very finest quality clocks and watches, and this has remained true.
Chelsea's first popular time piece was a clock called the Ship's Bell clock. This clock was not only popular at sea, but in people's homes as well. These clocks were also found in every port in the world. Chelsea clock movements have also been used in many different kinds of instruments, and have been proven to be of the most accurate quality available. Many official time records have been recorded using a Chelsea mechanism because they are known to be so reliable and of such good quality.
