Calendar clocks are clocks that contain a calendar on them in addition to hands that tell time. In antique models, these calendars were generally laid out in a spherical pattern, just like the hours were. A hand pointed to which day it was, and generally the month was also indicated. Most of these clocks had a wooden casing, and were either wall hanging clocks or were mantel clocks. Some of them had visible pendulums, and then some of them featured stylish designs that ranged from pure elegance and attractiveness to quite plain and functional. Most of the great antique clock companies built this kind of clock at one time or another and they are very valuable collectors' items. And some of them can still be obtained in working order, although many are not in as good a condition as these few. These clocks are a great addition to any collection.
