An anniversary clock is a clock that can last as long as 400 days on a single winding. The reasons these clocks are able to last so long is because of a slow torsion pendulum that sustains the clocks momentum to last a long time. These clocks are often decorative, and have a pendulum. The pendulums help the clock keep near perfect time, but this depends on a number of different thins. In different temperatures, for example, the pendulum can expand or contract, causing you to lose or gain time. Also, since gravity's pull is different at different altitudes, the time of the clock will be effected if you move it up or down a long way. Even the top floor or the bottom floor of a large building will make a difference! Some clocks can be adjusted for these changes, but either way, these clocks are more for decoration than for accurate time-keeping.
